Paramedic Consolidated Transfer Center Specialist

Job Description
Evaluates andcoordinates the flow process involved in call taking, facilitating acceptanceand triage of calls throughout the Consolidated Transfer Center. Answersemergent and non-emergent dedicated transport telephone line and coordinatesall requests for interfacility transfers into and out of the Northwell Health System.
1. Gatherspertinent information to process patient transfer requests.
2. Demonstratecompliance with all established policies and procedures as they apply to thecoordination of patient referral and transport.
3. Communicates with the transferringfacility to obtain accurate insurance information.
4. Demonstrates applicable knowledge of EMTALA and Titleregulations pertaining to Consolidated Transfer Center request.
5. Coordinateswith Physicians, Administration, Case Managers, and facility staff toeffectively document consults and transfer requests.
6. Processrequests for critical Physician to Physician consults and transfer requests.
7. Developshigh degree of familiarity with client service area geography and medicalfacilities.
8. Prioritizetasks, adhere to deadlines and provide status updates on assigned projects
9. Evaluates,processes, tracks, documents and coordinates patient transfers for thesuccessful referral and transfer of patients to the facility.
10.Ensures all paperwork and computerentry is accurate.
11. Promotes satisfaction between the ConsolidatedTransfer Center and all Physicians, internal and external customers.
12. Performsrelated duties, as required.
ADAEssential Functions
HighSchool Diploma or equivalent, required or Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Currentcertification as a NYS Certified Paramedic, required.
CurrentAHA Healthcare Provider ACLS card, required.
CCEMTPor FP-C certification, preferred. Successful completion of Avesta, SelectAdvantage 911 Dispatch and CritiCall, prior to hire, required.
Successfulcompletion of CEMS training program within three months of hire, required.
Successfulcompletion of Consolidated Transfer Center training program within three monthsof hire, required.
Successfulcompletion of the NAEMD Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification withinin three months of hire, required.
Knowledgeof all CEMS Policies and Procedures, Command & Control, Standard OperatingGuidelines and System Status Management/Plans within three months of hire,required.
Knowledgeof all Consolidated Transfer Center Policies and Procedures within three monthsof hire, required.
Demonstratesproficiencies in Avaya Integrated Telephone System, Computer Aided DispatchSystem, Computer database maintenance and integrity, and mapping systems withinthree months of hire, required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
