Communications Director
New York State Senator Jack Martins is seeking a highly motivated Communications Director with strong strategic writing and media management skills to work in his Long Island District Office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to handle numerous issues in a fast-paced office, and is a versatile writer and editor. This dynamic role will include the following
Responsibilities:
oOverseeing all communications, press, and creative functions in the office, including creation of messaging priorities oProducing content for social media oExecution of communications plans oBriefing and staffing the Senator oIdentifying press and speaking engagements oCollaborating with policy and community relations staff oCultivating positive constituent stories oEditing communications content Additionally, the Communications Director will cultivate relationships with local media outlets on Long Island as well as statewide media that focuses on NY government, coordinating interviews for the Senator and providing on-the-record comment when needed.

From $50000 to $55000 Annually
Minimum Qualification
The idea candidate for the position will have:
oExcellent written and verbal communication skills oDemonstrated history of working collaboratively oAbility to travel within the districtEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
